South Korean Ambassador Recommends Education for Growing Nigeria’s Economy November 05, 2019 The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nigeria, His Excellency Lee In-Tae has encouraged Nigeria to continue to strive for a better and developed country while using his country as an example of such development. The Ambassador spoke on the 22nd of October 2019 at the main campus of the University of Jos on the topic “Growing the Nigerian Economy through Education:The South Korean Model. He gave the similarities between Nigeria and Korea, explaining that both countries were colonised by Britain and Japan respectively. Korea, he said was one of the poorest countries in the world but they started growing gradually from war ruins to a heavy-duty industry and then an ICT industry. Their GDP per-capita is rounding up to 31,363 USD (IMF report 2018).Their major product been semiconductors and electronics.The percentage of unemployed is 3.7% and underemployed youth is 9.4%...

JUVISU holds congress meeting November 23, 2019 The Jos University Visually Impaired Student Union (JUVISU) held her congress meeting on the 21st of November, 2019. This event which took place at the village hostel compound 13 had many people coming out to grace the meeting. In an opening speech by the president of the union, Mr.Hassan David, he encouraged members of the union to embrace unity among themselves as this will go a long way to strengthen the union and make it achieve its set goals. He further stressed that there have been many challenges that he has faced as the president as well as the union as a whole but through love, sacrifice and determination they had been able to overcome these challenges. “Taro is an Exhibition of Unity in Diversity”- Unijos Theatre Arts Finalist Posted By  admin  on Nov 9, 2019 A group of finalists from the department of Theatre and Film Arts, University of Jos, identified as Patrick Pius Enna, John Vianney Inyanda, Paul Cheto, David Mafeng Toho, Gideon Yusuf Chongtami, Daniang Noel Anshi, Paul Augustine Ochepo organised a cultural display tagged ‘Taro: the gathering’ as part of their final year project. JUESSA holds Election for 2019/2020 EXCOs November 30, 2019 The JUESSA elections was held on the 21st of November 2019 and witnessed the election of new executives for the 2019/2020 session. The election polling unit was separated into two; the  Architecture polling unit and the building polling unit and was scheduled for 9 am began by 10 am due to some challenges which included the collection of ballot boxes from the security department. Some minutes into the election, students from the various departments in the faculty gathered and formed a queue in order to ensure orderliness during the elections. EPSA Election : Mercy Vongwok Emerged Victorious as the President- Elect By  Admin   on  Saturday, November 23, 2019 Mercy Vongwok, a 300L student of the Department of Religion and philosophy emerged as the winner of the election that took place in the Faculty of Arts on the 21st of November, 2019. There was so much joy and jubilation when she was announced as the president-elect. AMCOMS Wins Dean’s Cup in all Competition on FASA Week November 30, 2019 By  Admin   on  Saturday, November 9, 2019 The department of mass communication on Friday, November 8, 2019 became winner in the dean’s cup competition in all games, having beaten the department of Religion and Philosophy in a volleyball competition, the department of Music in a female football and Religion and Philosophy again in the men’s football competition that started on Monday November 4, 2019. After beating the department of Archeology 3-2 to qualify for the final on Thursday, the mass communication forward, Philip Jang scored in a wonderful finish three minutes after the kick-off to seal a win for his side in the final.
